You are cordially invited to the 31st Symposium on Ultrasonic Electronics to be held in Tokyo, Japan, from 6th to 8th of December, 2010.
The symposium was launched in 1980, with the aims of sharing as much research information as possible and promoting scientific contributions, in order to offer an academic platform for those involved with basic and applied researches in diverse fields related to ultrasonics, and has been held every year since then, bringing a remarkable amount of innovative and pioneering work to the communityfs attention and discussion. Last year saw nearly 300 papers presented and participation by more than 450 researchers and students, featuring an invited talk by a distinguished lecturer of IEEE UFFC-S. It is the symposiumfs tradition to have poster as well as oral presentations conducted in a plenary session in the hope that all participants may enjoy all of the presentations and interact in discussions of their common research interest.
Consistent with the international orientation of the symposium, papers and presentations in English are most welcome from all over the world, and one of the three meeting days is fully dedicated to the International Session. All poster presentations are displayed in English as well.
Authors are strongly encouraged to submit their presentations in the form of Regular Paper or Communication to a Special Issue on Ultrasonic Electronics of the Japanese Journal of Applied Physics. Some of the oral and poster presentations will be nominated as the winners of The Young Scientist Award, whilst some papers published in the Special Issue will be selected for the Best Paper Award.
I look forward to seeing you at the symposium.
Prof. Masatsune Yamaguchi, Organizing committee chairman
