The personal information you provide to the USE2009 steering committee will only be used to ensure that the symposium runs smoothly. Personal information will only be supplied after getting advance approval from the USE2009 steering committee.

The USE2009 steering committee will not provide personal information to third parties except in the following specified cases.

Disclosure and update of personal information
If you request the disclosure, correction or update of your personal information, we will comply with this within reason.
However, it is impossible for us to accept your request in the following cases:
- if there is a possibility of damaging a personfs life, health, assets or other effects
- if we judge the request to cause a major delay in the preparation of USE 2009
- if required by law or regulations

(b) The USE2009 organizing committee holds the copyright to programs, text, and photographs on this website and the related materials.
(3) Visa Information
The application for a visa may take two to three months or even longer. If a visa has not been granted one month before the symposium date, the applicant should notify the Symposium Secretary without delay.
Procedure for Entry into Japan
As a rule, any foreign national who seeks to enter Japan must first possess a valid passport issued by the government of his/her country and obtain a visa relating to the purpose of his/her visit from a Japanese embassy or consulate abroad. At the time of entry into Japan he/she shall undergo an examination by an Immigration Inspector at an airport or a seaport and shall have his/her passport endorsed for entry with a stamp.
Visas
Unless specifically exempted from visa requirements, a foreign national seeking entry into Japan should apply for a visa at a Japanese embassy or consulate in his/her country and have the visa stamped in his/her passport. For more information, please see the following visa-related web sites:
